Profile of Esi Ansah

Dr. Esi AnsahDr. Esi E. Ansah is an Assistant Professor at the Ashesi University in Ghana teaching Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Development. Her professional interests include human resource development in the public sector, social entrepreneurship and south-south learning exchanges in the arena of African development. She is also a founding partner of Axis Human Resource Development Group, a socially-conscious HR consultancy based in Ghana. As a Human Resource Development Specialist, she organizes workshops on career planning and development for young adults, and has mentored many young people in this endeavor.

Esi is a product of top-ranked Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast (Ghana), she earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in International Affairs, French, and Psychology (cum Laude) from Florida State University. She went on to earn two Masters degrees in Social Sciences and in Public Service Management from the University of Chicago and DePaul University, respectively.  She earned her doctorate in Public Administration from Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA.

A highly devoted Christian, Esi’s commitment to community service is evident in a long history of volunteer work wherever in the world she finds herself. From caring for displaced orphans in Jamaica, to mentoring adolescents to excel academically in Florida, to laboring to refurbish houses for the low-income elderly in Kentucky, and mentoring incarcerated youth in Ghana, Esi has placed her considerable talents and enthusiasm at the service of her numerous adopted communities.

Esi found a home at The Project while abroad, and she served, and still serves, as a member of the Advisory Board for Longevity Project Africa, a U.S. nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds and other resources to support the mission of The Project in various African countries. She has already started initiating several exciting programs for The Project in her roles as a member of the Board of Directors and as a fully-engaged volunteer.

Esi is an unabashed food aficionado, loves to cook, loves to work with young people, and counts writing, traveling, and photography amongst her hobbies. She is fluent in Akan, Ga, English and French and conversant in Spanish.
