Profile of Anthony Kofi Foli

Professor Anthony Kofi Foli is a Professor of Medicine (Retired) at the University of Ghana Medical School (UGMS). After completing his secondary school education at the prestigious St. Augustine’s College in Ghana, Professor Foli received his medical training in the U.K. and did his post-graduate studies in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, Child Health and Immunology. He has garnered several research fellowships from the World Health Organization, the Government of Ghana and the British Commonwealth

In addition to extensive experience abroad as a Professor of Medicine, notably in Saudi Arabia and Ireland, Dr. Foli has held several positions in the Ministry of Health of the Government of Ghana and at the UGMS and served as head of the Department of Medicine (Professor) at the UGMS from 1979 to 1981.

Professor Foli is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Glasgow and of Edinburgh and a Foundation Fellow of the West African College of Physicians.
